Store Locator: Overview

The Store Locator is a must-have tool for site owners that have multiple locations, offices, dealers or any other reason to have multiple addresses that a visitor may need to find.

Now, you can click on a marker icon in the list below the map to center the map and display the bubble information.

You can hide the categories column in the admin panel.

NEW!! If you are also using the Business Network Profiles plugin, the Store Locator will automatically sense that you have it and allow you to link store locations to the members listings in the Business Network Profiles plugin!

The plugin is simple. Install it and then add your locations. Each location can have the following information:

• Store Name


• Street Address / City / State /Zip / Country


• Direct Phone Number


• Website


• Email Address


• Category


• Link to any page on the site or to the network profile id


• Online Only Option (sets a location as online only so it doesn't have a location associated)

There are numerous settings to choose from:

• Choose to display distance in Miles or Kilometers


• Site user can enter country to search


• Limit to a specific country


• Limit the number of results per page


• Hide the category column


• Set the map size


• Set a default search distance


• Add a CSS class name to the links for changing pages

Once your locations are entered, add the store locator to any page on your site.

When a visitor comes to your site, they can enter their address (only the zip code is required). Then, a list will be generated with all of your locations in order of distance from the visitor's address and will display the contact info entered into the admin. It will also generate a Google Map with markers for each address!

The form the visitor fills out and the results page are controlled with your site CSS. (Further instructions on doing this are available upon request at this time via the email address below. I will eventually get around to adding some written instructions to this site.)

This is a super simple plugin that adds a huge amount of power to your site.
